A Tribute to Adam McNaughtan

With the loss of Adam McNaughtan, one of the last links to the Scottish Folk scene from the 1960’s has gone. Adam’s writing and performances have left an indelible impression on the lives of Glaswegians and Scots. His unforgettable wit, erudition and the depth of his knowledge of the folk music world make it clear we will not see his like again. He made a unique contribution.

I put this tribute together as a request from Mary Poole and David McNaughtan, Adam's sister and brother, and it was something I was proud to do. Many folk I contacted to take part were regrettably unavailable and perhaps there will be a possibility at some future date to do this again, with other performers and different song choices?

Jimmy Ross and I are in the process of writing a show remembering Adam, which we intend to take around the folk clubs later this year.

In the meantime, enjoy an afternoon where we remembered what Adam meant to us all.
